The positive news is that sexual activity can remain satisfying in your 60s and 70s, just like it is in your 20s and 30s. However, it’s important to acknowledge that as you age, there may be some adjustments in how you engage in sex. Your body might not be as flexible for certain positions, and your stamina may not be as high as it was in your younger years.
You can have sex at any age. It’s just a matter of figuring out what positions are best for you and the person you are with. This is a list of the top sex positions, for all ages. From your 20s to 60s.
It is possible that you may be more prone to premature ejaculation. If so, it’s best to avoid positions such as the missionary-style and doggy-style. “They are most likely cause premature ejaculation because of deeper penetration and masculine-controlled thrusts,” explains Katy Zvolerin IASSCS. Clinical Sexologist & sex educator, Adam & Eve.
1、Try: woman on top.
Zvolerin says that if you are struggling with premature ejaculation “woman-on-top” (where the woman controls penetration speed and depth) can help to delay orgasm. It’s a great view, too.
2、Try this: standing cowgirl.
You can experiment with sex in your 20s that you wouldn’t be able to when you are older. Zvolerin advises that, in order to take advantage of this, you can lift your partner against a wall and enjoy sex. “Have your partner wrap her legs round you for support and choose a place where her hands can rest against a desk, or a sturdy shelving,” says Zvolerin.
A bonus is that standing cowgirl allows you to slow down. Your mind will be distracted when you’re focused solely on you and your partner. “This keeps premature ejaculation away,” she says.
If you’re in your 30s you might be less agile than before, but it isn’t necessary to slow yourself down.
“This is the perfect time to try those positions that need flexibility and stamina,” Alicia Sinclair, ACS WASC, creator and sex educator of sex toys such as the b-Vibe LeWand The Cowgirl, says.
Even though you won’t experience any pain in your joints, if it has been a while since you last worked out, you could have some injuries. Take this into consideration when trying different positions.
3、Try this: adjusted doggy.
Dr. Jennifer Landa is an OB/GYN from Orlando, FL. She says that standing up can be helpful when you are working around an injury. For a different variation of doggy style, have your partner lean against a table or counter and enter her behind.
Sinclair says, “We often feel most comfortable with ourselves and our partners as we approach our 40s.” This is the best time to explore positions which enhance the spiritual aspects of sex. They also help create a closer connection between you and your partner.
It may take a little longer for you to reach a harder erection, but you can spend more time doing foreplay, before you work up to your main event.
The first signs of joint problems may appear as men enter their 40s. According to Dr. Jennifer Landa an OB/GYN based in Orlando, FL, “as they age, sports injuries and issues such as low back pain and sciatica increase.”
4、Try this: 69
Sinclair explains that “oral sex” is an excellent way to keep busy when both partners are turning on and need a little more time for warming up.
The extra attention to your partner’s oral health will be beneficial as well, because many women experience vaginal dryness after 40.
“You and your partner will be enjoying the experience of pleasure simultaneously. It won’t seem as a chore to take extra time for a full hard, she says.”
5、Try this: seated face-to-face
This position helps to relieve pressure from the joints.
In this position, both partners sit on each other’s laps. Sinclair says the position offers great G spot access as well as a chance to look deeply into each partner’s eyes.
If you wish to alter the position slightly, simply sit on your partner’s legs with your butt between their legs and slightly close your thighs. “This is a great way to get a tight squeeze. It also requires less effort for the partner who’s on top,” she says.
Unfortunately, you are more likely to develop erectile dysfunction (ED), after the age of 50. According to a University of Chicago study, one-third of males between 50 and 64 years old suffer from erectile dysfunction. You are not alone.
Sinclair suggests that you can maintain the same feeling of desire as when you were younger by modifying your favorite positions.
Landa suggests that, in general, any position with the man on top of the woman is ideal. “Gravity flows downward, which helps the blood flow into the genitals,” he says. Also, try having sex in the morning. Erections are at their strongest during this time.
6、Try this: tight missionary
Your partner can help you adjust the traditional man-on top position by wrapping her legs around yours. Sinclair says this creates a tighter grip that keeps the penis in place if it’s difficult to stay hard.
7、Try this: reverse cowgirl
Your partner can ride you as you lay on the floor. She will do most of your bouncing, moving, and jumping. Sinclair says this position is ideal for those who have high blood pressure because it allows them to relax, enjoy the ride, and do very little physical work.
This also benefits your penis. Sinclair says, “When you prop yourself up, because your movements are minimal, your blood can flow more to your penis than to your arms.”
“Your partner can enjoy the control she has, particularly if she is experiencing vaginal drierness. She will be able to control the pace of the massage and avoid unpleasant friction.”
8、Try this: wide-legged doggy
Kneel behind her while she is on hands and knees. Keep your legs between the legs of your partner while she spreads her legs. This allows you to use your hands, if required.
If you are losing your erection then try to penetrate with a couple of fingers under your penis. This will act as a splint. Sinclair suggests using one hand while stimulating the woman with the other.
A pillow can help you if you are prone to arthritis or joint pain. Zvolerin says, “Doggy style with pillows or cushions as support can alleviate stress on knee and hip joint.”
It’s important to be gentle with your body. Sinclair says that people with back pain, arthritis and other conditions that make it difficult to move should find comfortable positions that don’t put pressure on their joints.
You may also find it harder to maintain an erection as you age. The’soft entry’ technique, also known as the “soft entry” method is something to consider. Landa recommends entering your penis when it is still flaccid. It’s desirable to also use lubricant to achieve this. The partners can then move in a way that is enjoyable.
9、Try this: spooning
Landa explains that the spooning is an easy position to achieve for older men who have arthritis and body pain.
“The man lies with his partner on the side of the woman and enters her from behind. This can be a very pleasurable position, requiring very little movement.
